PAUL E. BAIN

Paul received his Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in History from the University of Toronto in 1986. He then obtained his Bachelor of Laws from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1989 and was called to the Bar in 1991.

Paul practices business, intellectual property and entertainment law. He is also a registered trademark agent. Paul represents clients in cultural industries, including the visual arts, music and film/television. He advises and negotiates on behalf of film and television producers, as well as artists and companies in the music business. His practice includes creative and knowledge-based businesses and their operators, including advertising agencies, design firms and software developers.

Paul acts for non-bank lenders in loan transactions involving unconventional security and in structuring other unique financings. He also has a special interest in the hospitality industry and acts on behalf of restaurateurs and club/ hotel owners in commercial transactions.

Paul is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Ontario Bar Association and the Canadian Bar Association. He is an advisor for several non-profit arts organizations, and serves on the board of the Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery at Harbourfront Centre. Paul is an avid collector of contemporary art and photography.
