Joseph received his Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Economy from the University of Toronto in 1983 and his Masters of Public Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University in 1985. He then obtained his Bachelor of Laws from the University of Windsor in 1989 and was called to the Bar in 1991. Since 1991 Joseph's area of practice has been personal injury and medical malpractice litigation. His personal injury practice focuses on catastrophic cases involving spinal cord and traumatic head injuries. His medical malpractice practice focuses on the areas of obstetrics, neurology, orthopedics and cardiology. Joseph represents victims of personal injury and medical malpractice exclusively. Joseph has considerable trial, arbitration and appellate expertise in his areas of practice and has lectured in the area of insurance law from the litigation perspective and in the rehabilitation context. Along with his team, he brings experience, professionalism and compassion to advocating on behalf of his clients. Joseph is currently on the Board of Directors of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association. He is also the co-author of the Dispute Resolution Practice Code dealing with Accident Benefits claims at the Financial Services Commission of Ontario. As well, Joseph is a member of the Bar Dispute Resolution Committee of the Financial Services Commission of Ontario. He is a member of the Joint Committee of the Advocate Society and the Canadian Bar Association regarding the paralegals in Ontario. He is an active member of the Insurance Committees at the Advocates Society and the Canadian Bar Association, advocating for reform of insurance legislation in Ontario. Joseph has also acted as a consultant to the British Columbia government regarding reforms to the insurance regime in British Columbia. He has been an invited speaker to the Canadian Bar Association, the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Insight Group, the Canadian Spinal Research Organization, the Ontario Paraplegic Association, the Association of Rehabilitation Professionals, the Ontario Brain Injury Association, the Brain Injury Association of Toronto, the Hamilton/Peel Brain Injury Association, the County of Kent Brain Injury Association and the Windsor Brain Injury Association. Joseph is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Ontario Bar Association, the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Trial Lawyers' Association, the Metropolitan Toronto Lawyers' Association, the Advocates Society, the Medical Legal Society, the Lawyers' Club, the American Trial Lawyers' Association, the Brain Injury Association of Toronto, the Ontario Brain Injury Association, the Ontario Neuro-Trauma Foundation, the Canadian Paraplegic Association, and the Halton-Peel Brain Injury Association. |
