ERIC KAY

Eric received his Honours Bachelor of Arts in History from the Royal Military College in 1978. He then obtained his Bachelor of Laws from Queen's University in 1981. He articled with the firm and joined the firm upon his call to the Bar of Ontario in 1983.

Eric is certified by the Law Society of Upper Canada as a Specialist in Civil Litigation. He practices commercial litigation with emphasis on the areas of banking, business disputes, construction law, creditors' and debtors' rights and remedies, insolvency and mortgage remedies. He has appeared frequently as counsel in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice (including on the Commercial List) and the Court of Appeal for Ontario.

Eric also practices employment law including preparing employment contracts, advising on disciplinary issues and terminations, and acting on wrongful dismissal actions.

Eric is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Ontario Bar Association, the Canadian Bar Association, The Advocates' Society, the Metropolitan Toronto Lawyers Association and INSOL International.
